Coquitlam crane operator and home builder
Coquitlam — especially the Burquitlam and Town Centre corridors — has been a steady source of mid-rise crane work for the last decade. The home-building side of the work shows up less here than in Burnaby or Vancouver, but it’s still on the list when the site fits.
Crane work in Coquitlam
Burquitlam and the Coquitlam Town Centre area have a long run of residential-tower and mid-rise projects tied to the Evergreen Line SkyTrain stations. That’s the bulk of our Coquitlam crane work — tower crane operation on the bigger sites, mobile crane pours on the smaller mid-rises that flank them.
Home building in Coquitlam
Custom builds in the older parts of Maillardville and Austin Heights still happen, though most of the build-side activity has moved up the slope to Westwood Plateau. We focus on the older grid lots; bigger Plateau projects aren’t our scale.
What’s specific to Coquitlam
Sites cluster. Crane work in Coquitlam often involves multiple adjacent projects sharing logistics. Lift planning is a coordination exercise as much as a load-chart exercise.
Hill geography. Coquitlam runs from near sea-level at Maillardville up to the Plateau. Foundation conditions vary accordingly. A blanket assumption from one part of the city doesn’t hold in another.
Permits. Coquitlam’s permitting is mid-pack among Greater Vancouver cities — not as fast as smaller municipalities, faster than Vancouver, more procedurally rigid than Burnaby.
